KUWAIT, April 5 (KUNA) -- Farwaniya Governor Sheikh Faisal Al-Humoud Al-Malek Al-Sabah and Turkey's Samsun Governor Ibrahim Sahin have signed a twinship agreement aiming to promote cooperation between both governorates.
Addressing the signing ceremony, the governor of Farwaniya said the twinship agreement would effectively contribute to promoting joint investments and exchanging expertise and views for the common interest of both sides.
The agreement is part of historical relations between Kuwait and Turkey, which have greatly developed over recent years and have thus become a model for international relations, he said.
Sheikh Faisal hoped that the deal would bear fruit in the near future, and lead to broader cooperation between both governorates in various fields.
On his part, Turkey's Samsun Governor Ibrahim Sahin hailed the signing of the twinship deal as the beginning of closer cooperation and constructive exchange between both governorates.
He said Kuwait and Turkey are tied with close and historical relations, urging Kuwaiti investors to run investments in Turkey, particularly in Samsun. (end) amn.nfa.mt
