KUWAIT, March 26 (KUNA) -- Minister of Justice, Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Yaqoub Al-Sanea has concluded an official visit to Armenia with signing of agreements on judiciary cooperation.
During his six-day stay, minister Al-Sanea met President Serzh Sargsian to convey to him greetings and best wishes from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
He also held talks with Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan on bilateral ties and economic cooperation, and with Minister of Justice Arpine Hovhannisyan on judicial cooperation.
The visit to Armenia, Al-Sanea's first since he took office as Minister of Justice, was a complete success, Kuwait Ambassador to the country Bassam Al-Qabandi said in a statement.
The minister's talks with the Armenian leaders showed a shared desire to open new horizons of cooperation between the two friendly countries, the ambassador pointed out.
Minister Al-Sanea and Abrahamyan discussed ways to enhance economic and investment cooperation as well as legislations relating to promotion and protection of investments.
Abrahamyan recalled his visit to Kuwait last year where he met His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Prime Minister to discuss the investment opportunities available for the Kuwaiti investors in Armenia.
The Armenian Minister of Justice welcomed minister Al-Sanea's visit and called for increased exchanges of high-level visits between the two countries, according to the statement.
The two ministers signed an agreement on mutual legal assistance and cooperation on penal issues, the statement added. (end) mmj.gb
