KUWAIT, Feb 22 (KUNA) -- Touristic Enterprises Company announced the re-opening of Kuwait Towers after five years of extreme renovation of this historic and national landmark.
Director of Kuwait Towers Mubarak Abdulaziz Al-Enezi told KUNA, on Monday after the opening ceremony, that the Company is keen on developing tourism in the country which goes in line with His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's desire to turn Kuwait into a financial and commercial hub.
Al-Enezi pointed out that Kuwait Tower is considered a historic landmark and a tourist destination that attracts visitors of the country.
Kuwait Towers was built in March 1979 and comprises of main tower, middle tower and a minor tower spread on an area of 38,000 square meters.
The main tower is 82 meters above sea level and contains: the "Horizon Restaurant" (Ofok Hall) which serves lunch and dinner buffets with a daily new menu. The main tower also contains "Le Cafأ©" coffee shop that serves light snacks, a variety of pastries and all kinds of refreshing beverages.
The viewing sphere is situated 123 meters above sea level. It rotates 360 degrees every half an hour to give visitors a full view of Kuwait.
The Middle Tower is used as a water reservoir (water tank). The Minor Tower is used to supply electricity for some areas in Kuwait City and the two major towers. (end) km.nfm
