KUWAIT, Feb 14 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's 16th Camel Race, held under His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's auspices, kicked off on Sunday at Kuwait Camel Race Club featuring participation from Kuwait, Gulf and Arab countries.
The camels will be racing in 125 races to be held over five days.
Sheikh Ahmad Mansour Al-Sabah, Director General of the Public Authority for Sport (PAS), said in a statement to the press that the patronage of His Highness the Amir showed how Kuwait attached great importance to a traditional sport exercised by the fathers and forefathers.
The huge participation of camels, he added, showed how successful this race been over the past years.
Fans attending the races are enthusiatic to see how tough the races will be be. (end) fsa.bs
