69 injured in train accident in Egypt

CAIRO, Feb 11 (KUNA) -- Up to 69 people were injured on Thursday when a passenger train speeding from Luxor to Cairo veered off the track, the railway authority said.
The train crossed the semaphore, at dawn time, causing it to change course, and two of the carriages to break off, it said.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health said 69 people were injured as a result of the accident, and the Ministry of Interior declared that cranes were brought in at the scene to lift up the loosened carriages and try resume regular traffic on the Luxor-Cairo railway. (end) rg.rk
