ROME, Feb 10 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Ambassador to Italy Sheikh Ali Khaled Al-Jaber Al-Sabah lauded the launch of the new Joint Italian-Arab Chamber (JIAC), a non-profit association, stressing the importance of its role in boosting economic and commercial ties between Italy and the Arab world, and widening the mutual cooperation between them.
This institution poses an important step in keeping up, using and improving the vast opportunities provided by the excellent Arab-Italian relations, and shows keenness of Italian and Arab businesses in boosting joint cooperation, the Kuwaiti diplomat told KUNA Wednesday following the Chamber's inauguration ceremony, in presence of Arab diplomatic missions.
The Chamber's main objective is to encourage and provide necessary support and facilitations for Italian companies working in Arab countries and vice-versa, he indicated after attending the Chamber's first board of directors meeting upon invitation by the Chamber's President Cesare Trevisani.
He also stressed the importance of the new association's activities such as organizing two Italian-Arab forums that transfer annually among various Italian and Arab capitals and cities, holding promotional expos, organizing mutual commercial delegations to bolster communication, in addition to review and discover open cooperation opportunities.
The Kuwaiti Ambassador also pointed out the joint chamber's activities in keeping up with current economic developments, efforts exerted by several Arab states in developing and diversifying their economies via significant programs and projects such as updating their infrastructures, as well as their production, services, and investment sectors.
