Iraqi PM urges major cabinet reshuffle

BAGHDAD, Feb 9 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi on Tuesday urged lawmakers and politicians from different parties to cooperate for introducing a fundamental change to the cabinet lineup.
"I call for fundamental change to the cabinet to include professional and technocratic figures and academics," Al-Abadi said in a press statement.
He emphasized the necessity of parliament and political blocs' cooperation to help the country overcome the current critical stage.
He unveiled plans to restructure ministries to cut spending and uproot corruption. (end) ahh.ibi
