KUWAIT, Feb 9 (KUNA) -- Farwaniya Governor Sheikh Faisal Al-Humoud Al-Malek Al-Sabah inaugurated Tuesday the 55th Independence Day exhibition, which is organized by Kuwait International Fair (KIF) and lasts until February 13th with participation of 25 state bodies and institutions.
The expo highlights an important phase in Kuwait's history, assuring the solidarity of the Kuwaiti people and their loyalty to the political leadership, Sheikh Faisal Al-Humoud told reporters following the opening ceremony, in presence of the diplomatic missions in Kuwait.
The event poses an opportunity to get acquainted with the government's role in serving the citizens and residents, protecting the country, and establishing safety and security for citizens and residents, he said, pointing out the state bodies' participation, in this regard, to showcase their services and role to the public.
Sheikh Faisal also stressed the importance of using such national events to not only express joy and celebration, but also to work harder and faithfully in order to benefit the country and its people.
These occasions also provide a valuable opportunity in showcasing the Kuwaiti people's solidarity and loyalty to His Highness the Amir, and their opposition and rejection to any attempt of undermining their national unity, he said, expressing his gratitude to all sponsoring bodies, diplomatic missions in Kuwait, and the participants.
For her part, Marwa Al-Qenaei, director of the expo, stated that the 55th Independence Day expo has attracted 25 state bodies and institutions as participants and sponsors, among which the foreign ministry had the "diamond" sponsorship, the Social Development Office, the "platinum", and the National Guard, "gold".
She added that other sponsors also included the higher education ministry, interior ministry, Public Institution for Social Security (PIFSS), Civil Service Commission (CSC), Kuwait Awqaf Public Foundation (KAPF), Zakat House, and social affairs and labor ministry. (end) amn.nfa.ma
