GENEVA, Feb 9 (KUNA) -- A United Nations group praised Tuesday the outstanding position of Kuwaiti women, saying that they play an important role in the development of their country.
This came during a meeting between Eleonora Zielinska, Chairperson-Rapporteur of the Work Group on Discrimination against women in law and in practice, and Kuwait's permanent delegate to the UN headquarters in Geneva Ambassador Jamal Al-Ghunaim.
Zielinska said that she was looking forward to witness the achievements of Kuwaiti women during a visit by a delegation from the work group to Kuwait.
On his part, Ambassador Al-Ghunaim affirmed that upcoming visit will focus on the status of women in Kuwait, adding that several meetings will be held between the delegation and Kuwaiti officials to discuss issues connected with women affairs. (end) ta.ss
