DOHA, Feb 9 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Interior Ministry's Undersecretary Lt. Gen. Suleiman Al-Fahad has underscored the importance of continued security cooperation and coordination among GCC member states, amid the current situations and developments in the region.
In a statement to KUNA following talks with Major General Saad bin Jassim al-Khalifi, head of public security of Qatar's Interior Ministry, on Tuesday, Al-Fahad said promoting bilateral cooperation on the issues of mutual interest was discussed.
He added that the talks dealt with coordination between the two countries pertaining to security topics so as to achieve security and stability, and enhance scientific capabilities aiming to upgrade security action between the two sides.
"We also discussed the latest developments in the region and means of sharing relevant information and expertise," he said, praising the current "distinguished" cooperation between the two sisterly countries and continued coordination pertaining to security topics and issues.
Al-Fahad, who arrived in Doha on Monday, was accompanied by a security delegation on a two-day visit to hold talks with a number of Qatar's security officials. (end) nnd.hm
