Oman helps transport Iranian heavy water

MUSCAT, Feb 8 (KUNA) -- The Sultanate of Oman announced Monday that it had helped transport a consignment of heavy water (D2O) outside Iran as per the nuclear pact signed between Iran and 5+1 Group.
The Omani News Agency (ONA) reported that the move came in response to a request by the Iranian and US governments as a part of the implementation of the nuclear deal terms.
The nuclear deal between Iran and 5+1 Group states that the heavy water reserves should not exceed 130 tonnes. Quantities over this limit should be disposed of during the next 15 years by selling them in international markets, ONA noted. (end) ahr.ibi
