World Government Summit in Dubai answers tomorrow's questions

DUBAI, Feb 8 (KUNA) -- The World Government Summit (WGS) will tackle global challenges and answer tomorrow's questions, said the Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the (WGS) Mohammed Al-Gergawi Monday.
Al-Gergawi stated in his opening speech that the fourth industrial revolution was coming, "where the virtual world merges with the real and digital world, with organic results that will provide in dramatic changes, which are fast and comprehensive." Speaking on the opening day of the (WGS) in Dubai, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum, Professor Klaus Schwab said "the first revolution focused on invention, where we introduced the steam train, the second was the dawn of electricity, and the third was the rise of the computer".
He continued, "We are at the beginning of a revolution that is fundamentally changing the way we live", pointing out that "the future is here, it has already begun and governments play a key role in shaping this future." "This revolution is changing us, not just the way we do things. It's a combination of physical, digital and biological spheres." Schwab added.
He urged the governments to put an emphasis on human development. "In the future the availability of talent will set the success of a country, it is its most precious resource." he stated.
Since 2013, the government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has hosted an annual Summit that brings together government officials, thought leaders, thinkers, policy makers, and private sector' executives to discuss the best ways to develop the future of government.
This year's theme is 'Shaping Future Governments,' and the agenda is focused on global challenges and solutions around delivering government services. (end) smr.haq
