US-led coalition conducts 17 airstrikes on IS group in Syria, Iraq

WASHINGTON, Feb 7 (KUNA) -- The US-led coalition against the so-called Islamic State (IS) group launched 17 airstrikes in Syria and Iraq Saturday, the Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) said in its daily report.
The airstrikes destroyed fighting and artillery positions, tactical units and buildings in Syria.
In Iraq, the coalition destroyed a large tactical unit, vehicles, fighting positions, a command and control node, weapons cashes, assembly areas, a vehicle borne improvised explosive device (VBIED), an IED cluster and a staging area. (end) ys.bs
