Saudi King underlines regional security, peace

RIYADH, Feb 7 (KUNA) -- Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud said on Sunday the Kingdom is keen on maintaining regional security and peace.
While receiving guests visiting Riyadh to attend the opening ceremony of the 30th National Festival for Heritage and Culture, better known as Al-Janadriyah Festival, the king said Saudi Arabia has the right to defend itself without interference in others' internal affairs, while calling on others not to interfere in its affairs either.
He said the Kingdom defends Muslim countries and cooperates with Arabs and Muslims to defend their nations, to ensure their independence and to maintain their ruling regimes accepted by their peoples, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
Calling for fighting poverty and ignorance, the Saudi Monarch said Islam is a religion of justice, mediation, mercy and cooperation, so terror advocates have nothing to do with Islam.
He even urged everybody to live up to due responsibility by unifying and enlightening the Muslim nation, and to exert more concerted efforts to overcome the current regional crises. (end) ad.kns.mt
