CAIRO, Feb 7 (KUNA) -- Chairman of the Foundation of Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain's Prize for Poetic Creativity, Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain, on Sunday reaffirmed support for the cultural movement and Arab poetic creativity Arab poets held through events, awards and conferences.
This came at a news conference after Al-Babtain attended a discussion at Faculty of Arts in Alexandria University on Iraqi scholar Ghassan Abbas Al-Saadi Master's degree thesis, entitled (Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain poetic stylistic study).
Al-Babtain announced the prize winners of Arab Voice radio competition, supported by Al-Babtain foundation, with participation of 141 poets from various Arab countries. First place winner was Jordanian poet Mohammed Turki Hijazi for his poem (In the Shadow of the Prince) and awarded with USD 6,000.
Second Place went to Tunisian poet, Khaled Waghlani, for his poem (Mariam) and was awarded with USD 3,000. Third place went to Egyptian poet Ahmed Balboula and the fourth to Egyptian poet Rana Al Azam. (end) ms.hs
