Parl't discusses bill on establishing Silk, Boubyan cities' public authorities

KUWAIT, Feb 7 (KUNA) -- National Assembly's public utilities committee discussed on Sunday a bill on setting up public authorities of the Silk and Boubyan cities.
The session was attended by Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Acting Minister of Electricity and Water Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah.
In a statement to reporters following the meeting, MP Saud Al-Heriji, the committee's rapporteur, said the committee wouldn't finish its report on the two cities before Tuesday and Wednesday's sessions as the bill has many items that need to be amended, adding that the report may be fulfilled within a month. He noted that the Silk City is a huge project which forms a quantum leap.
He revealed that the legislative and legal affairs committee advised the utilities committee to reject the bill as its items give more powers to the body and officials supervising the city. (end) rkf.abd.hm
