KUWAIT, Feb 7 (KUNA) -- The Government cares for habilitating national cadres and empowering them with special expertise in various domains in line with its advocacy of developing human resources for boosting development, a senior official re-affirmed on Sunday.
The renewed confirmation of the Government commitment was expressed by Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Minister of State for Development and Planning Dr. Hind Al-Sabeeh, in a statement she addressed at a seminar, organized by the General Secretariat of Planning and Development, in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
Minister Al-Sabeeh underlined the UNDP important role for empowering national cadres with the required experience, hoping to see, eventually, a large number of Kuwait youth occupying senior international posts.
The seminar was held after Kuwait joined the UN convention for supporting junior employees; designed to guide the young Kuwaiti citizens acquire field expertise in international development cooperation.
Kuwait, in 2013, assigned 10 Kuwaiti personnel to be involved in the UNDP skills enhancing programs. Three had been employed by the UNDP and one by OPEC Development Fund. (end) fnk.rk
