16 more air strikes target IS in Syria, Iraq

WASHINGTON, Feb 6 (KUNA) -- The US-led coalition against the so-called Islamic State (IS) group launched 16 air strikes in Syria and Iraq Friday, the Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) said in its daily report, released on Saturday.
In Syria, attack and remotely piloted aircraft carried out two airstrikes near Ayn Isa, where they struck two separate IS tactical units and destroyed a vehicle and four buildings.
Meanwhile in Iraq, attack, fighter, and remotely piloted aircraft carried out 14 airstrikes strongholds near Habbaniyah, where one strike struck an IS tactical unit and destroyed an IS vehicle and an IS fighting position; close to Mosul, where five strikes struck four separate IS tactical units and destroyed four IS assembly areas, three IS fighting positions, an IS vehicle, and eight IS command and control nodes; The attacks also targeted IS position in vicinity of Qayyarah, where three strikes struck three separate IS tactical units and destroyed an IS assembly area, near Ramadi where another three strikes struck a large IS tactical unit and destroyed five IS fighting positions, two IS heavy machine guns, an IS recoilless rifle, and an IS fuel transporter, six IS weapons caches, an IS command and control node, an IS front end loader, and an IS vehicle borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) facility.
