His Highness Amir meets UN chief, de Mistura

LONDON, Feb 4 (KUNA) -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah met the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Thursday.
UN chief expressed gratitude for the leading role of His Highness the Amir in supporting humanitarian causes across the globe, underlining Kuwait's status as a humanitarian center.
His Highness the Amir also received UN special envoy to Syria Staffan de Mistura.
The UN special envoy provided an explanation for His Highness the Amir on latest developments in the Geneva talks on Syrian humanitarian issues.
He praised leading role of Kuwait with the contributions to humanitarian areas, with participation of international communities, especially Syrian refugees.
Kuwaiti Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and His Highness the Amir's delegation attended both meetings. (end) gk.hs
