Saudi FM: Tension between Riyadh, Tehran will not affect Iranian visitors to holy sites

RIYADH, Feb 4 (KUNA) -- Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubair said Thursday that tension between Riyadh and Tehran will not affect the reception of Iranian hajj or visitors to holy sites.
Al-Jubair made his remarks at a joint press conference with German Foreign Minister Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, charging Iran with adopting an aggressive policy the for past 35 years and meddling in the Kingdom's internal affairs and those of other countries in the region.
In response to developments in Geneva regarding diplomatic efforts for Syria, the Saudi minister said the Syrian regime did not show any seriousness toward the negotiations, however "military operations conducted by Russia were intensified at the same time trigging anger by the Syrian opposition to halt negotiations, which is what happened." For his part, Steinmeier noted that the talks in Geneva were affected by the Syrian regime military operations on the ground and prohibition to have humanitarian aid enter affected areas. (end) od.mb
