Italian President Sergio Mattarella receives Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Rome
ROME, Jan 28 (KUNA) -- President of the Republic of Italy Sergio Mattarella received on Thursday visiting Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, kicking off his European tour to bolster bilateral ties.
A statement by the Italian government said the Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi met earlier with Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim and his accompanying delegation.
Earlier, the Qatari leader also met with the Italian Oil Group's (Eni) CEO Claudio Descalzi.
The two discussed issues related to OPEC and natural gas as a vital resource.
A statement by the group added that the two sides delved into prospects of mutual cooperation for the future. (end)
