KUWAIT, Jan 28 (KUNA) -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah is "renowned world leader" due to his numerous accomplishments and illustrious political career, said Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah, Head of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) as well as Chairman and Director General of Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
Speaking on the 10th anniversary of His Highness the Amir's ascension to ruler ship, Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij said in a press release that Sheikh Sabah was one of the major leaders to have an impact on the regional and international scenes, affirming that the Kuwaiti leader's long political career, which began in the mid-1940s, made him one of the distinguished leaders in history.
His Highness Sheikh Sabah career as Foreign Minister, which began in 1963, made him the most suitable individual to lead the state of Kuwait towards the future, said the top KUNA official, adding that His Highness the Amir played a pivotal role in gathering international support in condemning the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990.
He went on saying that along with late Amir His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the late father Amir Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, His Highness Sheikh Sabah's efforts made it possible for Kuwait to be liberated from the Iraq aggressors.
The recent UN recognition of His Highness the Amir as a humanitarian leader and Kuwait as a global humanitarian center is evident of the strong and wise leadership of Sheikh Sabah, said the KUNA Director who wished the leader of Kuwait ever more success in the future. (end) fa.gta
