GCC Sec. Gen. congratulates Kuwait on nat'l day celebrations

KUWAIT, Jan 26 (KUNA) -- Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Abdullatif Al-Zayani conveyed on Tuesday, heartiest congratulations to Kuwait on the country's imminent national day celebrations.
In a statement to KUNA, Al-Zayani said that "we have all grown accustomed to Kuwait's stellar projects," citing Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Heritage village as an example.
The village, christened after his Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah is an indication of His Highness the Amir's commitment to civilization and culure, Al-Zayani noted.
Kuwait is celebrating its 55th independence day, 25th anniversary of liberation from Iraqi occupation and the 10th anniversary of His Highness the Amir's assumption of office.
"Years of persistent efforts on the part of His Highness the Amir have carried Kuwait to the loftiest of places," Al-Zayani added.
"These efforts instill in us a sense of pride to be GCC citizens," the Secretary General of the GCC said, wishing Kuwait continued peace and stability. (end) mdm.jn.nam
