KUWAIT, Jan 26 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti theatre is amongst the most robust in the region and is laden with talent, Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah said on Tuesday.
In a press statement, the Ministry of Information said that Sheikh Salman met with a delegation from the national theatre, some of whom had participated in the eighth edition of the Arab Theatre Festival recently held in the country.
The national theatre always strives to develop itself as it caters to the youth and touches on significant societal issues, Sheikh Salman noted.
Sheikh Salman also met with a bevy of Kuwaiti performers, namely, Othman Al-Safi and Nassar Al-Nassar, who have clinched awards at the recent Sharm Al-Sheikh International Festival, for best actor and director respectively, the statement said.
National theatre performers also thanked Sheikh Salman for his support of their craft. (end) fs.nam
