Kuwait pavilion at the 36th International Tourism Trade Fair "FITUR 2016"
MADRID, Jan 24 (KUNA) -- The 36th International Tourism Trade Fair, FITUR 2016, concluded its events on Sunday, with the participation of 165 countries, including Kuwait.
Kuwait took part in the five-day event with a high-profile delegation of the tourist department at the Ministry of Information that included senior officials.
About 9,500 travel agencies and institutions across the globe participated in the fair which was highly attracted by a large number of visitors.
FITUR 2016 covered the topics of tourism, travel and tourism management.
The tourist sector has witnessed a remarkable growth over six years across the globe, it rose by 4.4 percent in 2015, reaching about 1.184 billion tourists, an increase of 50 million compared with 2014. (end)
