DOHA, Jan 21 (KUNA) -- General Director of Gulf Cooperation Council Joint Program Production Ali Hassan Al-Rayes, said Thursday the Arabic Language is important in maintaining the identity of Arab children and countries.
During the childhood phase, it is important to reinforce the value of the Arabic language, which is an essential duty and honor for the institutions to carry out, Al-Rayes told KUNA on the sideline of his participation at the second session of the advancement of Arabic language forum under the theme of (Linguistic Upbringing of the Arab Child - Reality, and Future Prospects).
Since establishment, the association focused on the standard Arabic language in all of its programs, believing that this language was important for the linguistic development of children, he said.
The official cited the assosciation's pioneering production of the children's program Open Sesame, commonly known Eftah Yasemsem in Arabic, saying that it displayed in Arabic language in its finest and lasted for more than ten years.
The two-day forum saw the participation of 300 research professors, teachers, and those interested in educational affairs.
It focused on the methods of teaching Arabic language in childhood and means of making it more attractive to children in order to urge them to master it. (end) nnd.ss
