CAIRO, Jan 10 (KUNA) -- Arab League Secretary General Nabil Al-Araby called on Sunday for a concerted Arab stance against Iranian meddling in the internal affairs of Arab nations.
Addressing an extraordinary meeting of Arab foreign ministers held in Cairo, Al-Araby vowed support to Saudi Arabia's efforts to maintain its security and sovereignty.
The Arab world could not tolerate any acts that could spark civil discord, Al-Araby said.
"Iran has shown willingness to foment unrest amongst Arab nations," the Arab League Secretary General noted.
The extraordinary meeting of Arab foreign ministers is a testament to Arab solidarity with Saudi Arabia and condemnation of Iranian attacks on the Saudi embassy in Tehran and consulate in Mashhad, which were violations of international conventions, Al-Araby said.
Moreover, Al-Araby renewed calls for holding an extraordinary meeting of Arab foreign ministers with the aim of discussing security obstacles gripping the Arab world as well as strategies to further enhance Arab unity and cooperation. (Pick up previous) mfm.nam
