Turkey deploys military reinforcements to Syrian border

ISTANBUL, Dec 29 (KUNA) -- The Turkish army sent a large number of military reinforcements to the border with Syria, in preparation for any emergency following the escalation of clashes between the Kurdish Democratic Union Party in Syria and terror groups like the so-called Islamic State (IS), said news report on Tuesday.
Military vehicles stationed in Gaziantep city have spread around the Turkish-Syrian border in order to strengthen border security system and raise the level of military capabilities, the report said.
The armed forces are expected to continue sending military reinforcements along the Turkish-Syrian border.
Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu stressed his country's firm position not to allow elements of the Democratic Union Party in Syria to cross into the west of the Euphrates River. (end) ta.ss
