KUWAIT, Dec 27 (KUNA) -- A leading Kuwaiti charity has held a ceremony celebrating graduation of 50 male and female memorizers of the Holy Book the Quran in Tanzania.
According to a statement by the Kuwaiti Embassy in Tanzania, Ambassador Jassem Al-Najem took part, along with Arab diplomats, in the graduates' honoring, held by International Islamic Charitable Organization.
Honoring memorizers of the Holy Book depicts Kuwait's renowned efforts for service of His Almighty Allah's Book, Ambassador Al-Najem said, as cited by the embassy statement, received by Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
He congratulated winners of the Quranic memorization contest, organized by the Kuwaiti charity, and expressed gratitude to all who had a hand in "the blessed activity.
The ceremony was attended by Tanzania's former president El-Hajj Ali Hassan Mwinyi, Tanzania's Mufti Sheikh Abubakary Zubeiry and other local and Kuwaiti dignitaries.(end) rk
