FGCCC unveils plan to set up firm to back Gulf female entrepreneurs

DOHA, Dec 2 (KUNA) -- The Federation Gulf Cooperation Council Chambers (FGCCC) has disclosed a plan to set up a specialized firm to offer technical support to the female entrepreneurs in the GCC member states.
Speaking at the third meeting of the Gulf female entrepreneurs which kicked on Doha Tuesday night, Chairman of the FGCCC Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassem Al-Thani said that the proposed firm would help female entrepreneurs establish, operate and develop their startups, small and medium sized projects.
He hoped the GCC Secretary General would soon make public the firm's foundation and contribution mechanism.
Al-Thani underlined the importance of improving the investment and business environment in the GCC states.
He wished the meeting would end up with a number of resolutions and recommendations to enhance women's contribution to national economies.
For her part, head of Qatar businesswomen forum Ibtihaj Al-Ahmadani said that the despite the successes achieved in the past years, Gulf businesswomen's contribution to national economies still modest.
She added that Gulf women still able to provide more for achieving sustainable development goals.
