Israel suspends diplomatic contacts with EU

RAMALLAH, Nov 30 (KUNA) -- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered the Foreign Ministry to suspend contacts with European Union representatives on the peace talks with Palestinian.
Netanyahu has instructed contacts with the EU to be frozen until a "reassessment process (of relations) is completed," a senior Foreign Ministry sources told the Israeli radio.
The source added that the move comes in response to the EU's decision to label Israeli exports from the illegal West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Golan Heights settlements.
The Israeli post-1967 war annexation of West Bank, East Jerusalem and Golan Heights is not internationally recognized.
The EU has said that the labeling policy aims to distinguish between goods made inside the internationally accepted borders of Israel and those outside.
The Israeli Premier has criticized the move and vowed a series of retaliatory measures. (end) nq.ibi
