Kuwait, UAE hold coordination meeting on energy affairs

KUWAIT, Nov 28 (KUNA) -- An Emirati delegation is due at the Ministry of Oil on Sunday for a bilateral coordination meeting on energy affairs.
The two-day discussions, to be held at the Oil Complex Building, will be co-chaired by Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil Sheikh Talal Al-Athbi Al-Sabah and his counterpart at the UAE Ministry of Energy Matar Hamed Al-Neyadi.
The meeting will discuss measures of forming the technical committee for the cooperation between the two countries in the field of oil, gas, and new and renewable energy, the ministry said in a statement.
Exchange of expertise in the oil industry will also feature high on the agenda of the meeting, in addition to coordination with spinoff companies of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC).
Participants will review Kuwait's efforts for disseminating oil culture among school students, and UAE's experience for storing CO2, besides alternative energy projects in Kuwait, the statement said.
This is the first coordination meeting to discuss a proposed MoU for oil cooperation due to be concluded between the two countries. (end) mka.tab.msa
