KUWAIT, Nov 28 (KUNA)

1903 -- Lord Kurzon, British King's Deputy and Ruler of India, who was in Kuwait for two-day visit, stressed strength of relations with the country under Sheikh Mubarak Al-Sabah's rule.
1915 -- Sheikh Mubarak Al-Sabah, the seventh ruler of Kuwait, who was also known as Mubarak Al-Kabeer, passes away at the age of 73 after ruling the country for 19 years.
1962 -- Students protested during a visit by Algerian activist Jamilah Bu Heirad. Two policemen and two students were injured during the demonstration.
1964 -- Kuwait opened its embassy in Italy and a consulate in Milan.
1973 -- Livestock Transport and Trading Company was set up at a KD eight million capital.
1976 -- An Amiri Decree was issued on establishment of Kuwaiti Tires Company at a KD eight million capital.
1976 -- A law was drafted on establishment of the Fund for Future Generations, with 10 percent of State's revenue to be deposited in the fund as of the fiscal year 1976/1977. The sums were to be invested by the Finance Ministry. Also, 50 percent of State's reserves were to be deposited into fund accounts immediately as the law came into effect.
1990 -- UN Security Council issued Resolution 677 condemning Iraq's attempts to change Kuwait's demographic status and called on the UN Secretary General to keep Kuwaiti population records to make sure no Iraqis would claim themselves as legal residents after the country liberation.
1995 -- The Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issued Decree 281/95 concerning theatre troupes putting them under the care of the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters and Minister of Information's jurisdictions.
2005 -- Kuwait hosted the 36th meeting of the Tunisia-headquartered Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI), established in 1967.
2005 -- Kuwait organized the 13th Union of Arab Chemists meetings and became the first Gulf state to act as host since union's establishment 30 years ago. (end) rk
