Metro services in Brussels resume services

BRUSSELS, Nov 27 (KUNA) -- All metro services have resumed in Brussels Friday after Belgian authorities reduced the threat level to 3 (serious threat) from 4 (imminent threat).
However, Belgian media reported that metro will only be running between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. for the time being; normally it operates till past-midnight.
Schools had reopened in the Belgian capital on Wednesday after they remained closed on Monday and Tuesday due to the heightened security alert.
The police and army presence on the streets of Brussels will be maintained but gradually reduced.
Speaking on Thursday evening in parliament, the Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel said that the Interior Ministry's Crisis Centre will look into holding of big events such as concerts and football matches in Brussels on a case per case basis. (end) nk.nfm
