Italy emphasize need for EU strategy before military action in Syria

ROME, Nov 25 (KUNA) -- The Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi has underlined the need for working out a clear-cut strategy before starting a military action against the so-called Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
In a speech at Rome Municipal Council, Renzi called for investing in culture to fight terrorism.
Without a clear strategy to the post-military intervention period, a comprehensive war on ISIL would be less powerful and less credibly, he said.
In this regard, he called for investing in cultural promotion to counter extremism and spread the values of peace and tolerance. (end) mn.ibi
