KUWAIT, Nov 22 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Interior's (MoI) General Department of Civil Defense will test warning sirens on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. local time (0700 GMT) in the six governorates, the ministry announced.
The tests aim to assure the siren machines working properly, and to make citizens and residents aware of various indications of the sirens' tones, MoI's Security Media Department said in a press statement Sunday.
It added that the tests are made to remind citizens and residents of the necessary safety precautions that must be taken in case of emergency or danger.
The siren system is installed across Kuwait and has three different tones or sounds each with different meaning; a single but intermittent tone which indicates imminent/possible danger (caution/warning); a wave sound (continuous ascending and descending tone) which indicates something has already happened or taking place (danger/attack), and a continuous single pitch tone meaning that danger is over (All Clear/Danger has passed).
