Arab Environment Ministers condemn Israel's systematic sabotage in Palestine

CAIRO, Nov 19 (KUNA) -- The Council of Arab Environment Ministers has condemned systematic sabotage committed by the Israeli occupation forces against environment in the occupied territories.
At the conclusion of its 27th session on Thursday, the Council urged Arab countries to shed light on sabotage acts committed by Israel in the international and regional conference and meetings.
It also called on international and Arab organizations and countries to carry out projects pertaining to environment preservation in Palestine and help it joint international environment conventions.
Conferees asked Palestine to prepare a draft resolution calling for dispatching necessarily a UN mission to evaluate the environment situation in the Gaza Strip after the last aggression launched by Israel in 2014 to be submitted to the second session of the UN Environment Assembly.
They also called on Arab countries to organize events and celebrations on the occasion of Arab Environment Day to brief the council's technical secretariat on details in this regard.
Meanwhile, Director General and Board Chairman of the Environment Public Authority (EPA) Sheikh Abdullah Ahmad Al-Sabah stressed the importance of Kuwait's participation in meetings on supporting the joint Arab action in all fields in particular environment.
Kuwait's participation in the meeting is part of its support for Arab efforts so as to reach a unified resolution, he said at the conclusion of the session.
Earlier today, he said the State of Kuwait has been eager to secure the basic humanitarian needs of people across the world in the event of crises and disasters.
He added that Kuwait's humanitarian response stems from commitment to humanitarian goals and values and international law. (pickup previous) msh.hm
