BEIRUT, Nov 14 (KUNA) -- The Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) on Saturday continued with its several-year process of handing out humanitarian and relief aid, mainly involving food and medicine, to thousands of Syrian refugees in Lebanon.
The KRCS has delivered 2,200 food packages and cleaning tools to Syrian refugee families in several towns in north Lebanon, KRCS office chief Musaed Al-Enezi said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) He added that his society was trying hard to deliver its food aid to outlying areas, noting that a fresh winter aid campaign would be launched soon in order to help Syrian refugees in Lebanon.
Kuwait's humanitarian aid is part of this Gulf country's commitment to supporting Syrian refugees in an effort to alleviate their humanitarian sufferings and woes.
The KRCS had recently distributed 1,150 food rations to Syrian refugee families in northern Lebanon, and signed a cooperation agreement with Qatar Red Crescent Society (IFRC) to support Syrian refugees in Lebanon.
It said the agreement mainly aimed at unifying efforts to deliver aid to the Syrians, noting that many aid projects were being carried out under the umbrella of GCC General Secretariat. (end) mah.mt
