Two Iraqis, 25 ISIL militants killed in clashes in Baiji, Al Anbar

BAGHDAD, Oct 25 (KUNA) -- Two Iraqi soldiers and 25 militants of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) were killed Sunday in northern city of Baiji, and in the western province of Anbar, the joint operations command said Sunday.
In Salahuddin province, the thermal power station in northern Baiji was fully purged and the coalition aircraft killed 17 ISIL militants in the town of Al-Sharqat, the command added in a statement.
In Anbar, eight militants were killed by the Iraqi army when they tried to attack some security forces, it said, noting that a booby-trapped car and three hideouts of ISIL in Al-Ramadi city were destroyed.
The Iraqi forces managed to dismantle about 98 explosive devices, it said, indicating that about 108 airstrikes were carried out in several areas. (end) ahh.hm
