Court holds hearing on terrorist cell case

KUWAIT, Oct 13 (KUNA) -- Criminal circuit of the court of cassation is due to cross examine later on Tuesday case 55/2015 (the State criminal security case) on the terrorist cell involving 26 suspects, with an expected testimony by a ballistics officer.
The court was addressed in the past hearing, held behind closed doors on October 6th, by an inspection officer on the same case. It had refused to release defendants during the October 4th session and was addressed by a State security officer.
It had freed four of the accused on a KD 500 bail, but banned them from travel and compelled the defendants to attend next sessions.
There are 26 persons charged with the case. They are all Kuwaitis, except for a single Iranian. The court held the first hearing on September 15.
Public prosecution had called for pre-trial detention of all the suspects, accused of carrying out hostile acts against the State of Kuwait, with possession of firearms, guns, ammunition and eavesdropping devices. (end) amn.tb.rk
