Rouhani: Iran-Europe relations on upward trend

TEHRAN, Oct 10 (KUNA) -- President Hassan Rouhani said on Saturday that under the current circumstances, Iran and Europe are geared to broaden relations with Poland as Iran's close friend in the European Union playing a very effective role in this regard.
This came during a meeting between Rouhani with visiting Polish Senate Speaker Bogdan Borusewicz in Tehran.
Tehran sees no barrier to expansion of relations with Poland, Rouhani said, adding that this is a very suitable chance for both sides to broaden all out relations and cooperation.
Priority should be given to those countries that had already established economic cooperation with Iran, Rouhani added.
Grounds for expansion of mutual economic, agricultural, industrial and technological cooperation are well prepared and the two nations could take this opportunity to broaden cultural and parliamentary cooperation, he noted.
Iran and Poland can cooperate in resolving regional and international issues through negotiations, Rouhani said, adding that 'We hope regional problems would be resolved through political means as restoring stability to Eastern and Centeral Europe is of prime importance for the Islamic Republic of Iran'.
He pointed out that talks between Iran and G5+1 proved that if countries are serious in resolving disputes through negotiations, many problems could be resolved easily.
Describing nuclear talks between Iran and G5+1 as very positive, the Polish Senate speaker called for expansion of all out political and economic relations with Iran.
He said the next move to broaden cooperation should be based on expanding regional cooperation in the fight against terrorism, he added.(end) mw.fz.tg
