French PM praises bilateral ties with Egypt

CAIRO, Oct 10 (KUNA) -- France's Prime Minister Manuel Valls praised here on Saturday the distinguished bilateral ties with Egypt saying that both countries would succeed in achieving their joint interests and consolidate cooperation in many domains.
This came in a meeting between Egyptian Premier Sharif Ismail and Valls who is here to discuss prospects of cooperation in many domains.
French President Francois Hollande announced last month that Egypt had agreed to buy two Mistral warships which his country built for Russia before scrapping the sale over the Ukraine crisis.
The conflict in Syria and Russia's dramatic military intervention as well as escalating Israeli-Palestinian violence are to figure high in the French prime minister's talks with leaders in Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
Ismail on his part said that the visit comes at a significant time to initiate a strong phase of cooperation between the two sides and to sign many cooperation agreements (end) rg.asa.tg
