UNSMIL publicizes proposed ministers in new Libyan government

RABAT, Oct 9 (KUNA) -- Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) Bernardino Leon has publicized proposed line-up of the new national unity government for Libya, to be headed by Fayez Al-Seraj, member of the Tripoli-based parliament.
The list includes six members for the premiership council, under Al-Seraj's chairmanship, with 17 proposed members in the cabinet, in addition to two other personalities nominated as heads of the State and National Security councils.
Leon, who was speaking at a news conference following a closed-door meeting of the Libyan parties, held in Skhirat, Morocco, late on Thursday, indicated that the parties agreed on naming six members, instead of five, to serve as members in the premiership council.
In addition to Al-Seraj, they include Ahmad Muaiteeq, Fathi Al-Mejbari, Mousa Al-Kawni, as deputies of the chairman representing the West, the East and the South, in addition to two other ministers; Omar Al-Aswad from Al-Zentan and Mohammad Al-Emari, member of the dialogue team representing the Tripoli-headquartered General National Council (GNC).
He proposed other personalities to serve as ministers in the new cabinet, namely Fathi Al-Hangari, Usama Sayala, Usama Al-Sayed, Tareq Yousef, Abdulsalam Al-Hasi, Shibani Bou-Hmoud, Mustafa Abu Sheghour, Ashour Shwai, Ibrahim Al-Nayed, Abuajailah Seif Al-Nasr, Salam Kanaan, Amal Al-Hajj, Imam Benyouness, Khalil Al-Bakkoush, Mohammad Bin Shaaban, Murad Hamaimah and Taher Al-Sinni. The UNSMIL chairman also proposed Fathi Bashagha to serve as the GNC head and Abdulrahman Al-Suwaihli as the State Council Chairman during the interim period of time.
Members of the premiership will work as a team and their votes will have same power in balloting, stated Leon, who called on all Libyans to support to the new national conciliation government. He also appealed to the international community to back it.
The declaration of the proposed government came as a result of dialogue held among the Libyan parties that had been hosted by the Moroccan resort town since last Tuesday. (end) adt.rk
