KUWAIT, Oct 6 (KUNA) -- Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) announced that Mina Al-Ahmadi's flare gas recovery unit has undergone a technical failure for a short time late Tuesday.
In statements to KUNA, KNPC Spokesman Khaled Al-Asousi said that the technical problem caused incomplete burning of some flare gases, which led to the leakage of sulfur oxides emissions for about 25 minutes.
The incident took place at 06:30 pm (local time) and company's staff has managed to stop the leakage swiftly, he said, confirming that the situation is now under control and is not posing any threat to people in the surrounding areas. (end) osj.ibi
