Kuwait criminal court to consider further terrorist cell case today

KUWAIT, Oct 6 (KUNA) -- The Criminal Court, chaired by Justice Mohammad Al-Duaij, will cross examine further on Tuesday the terrorist cell case (No. 55/2015) involving 26 suspects, in order to listen to the testimony by an intelligence officer.
The court rejected, at a session two days ago, release of the accused and listened to the testimony of the State Security officer who had been summoned for this purpose. The tribunal had freed four defendants in the case on bail of 500 dinars, but with travel ban and compelled them to attend future hearings. The court held its first session for this case on September 15.
The Public Prosecution instructed jailing all of the suspects, including three fugitives. On September 1, it charged them with committing actions violating the unity and safety of Kuwait, spying for Iran and Hezbollah Party in order to serve them both by committing hostile actions in Kuwait, as well as bringing, assembling and possessing weapons, explosives, machine guns, firearms and unlicensed eavesdropping devices as tools for committing the crimes.
The Ministry of Interior announced, on August 13, arresting the members of this terrorist cell. (end) amn.tb.lb
