DOHA, Oct 5 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Yaccoub Al-Sanae on Monday underlined the need for intensifying Gulf efforts to counter cross-border crimes.
In light of the growing challenges facing the Gulf region, particularly from terror crimes, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states have to take all required measures and apply necessary mechanisms to counter such dangerous crimes, the minister told KUNA upon arrival to Doha to partake in the 27th GCC Justice Ministers Meeting, slated for Tuesday.
Minister Al-Sanae was received at the airport by Qatari counterpart Hassan Al-Muhannadi and Kuwaiti Ambassador in Doha Miteb Al-Mutawtah.
The meeting is scheduled to discuss a number of key issues related to bilateral judicial cooperation, including a proposal for mutual extradition of wanted and convicted criminals and a unified anti-terror law. (end) nnd.ibi
