BRUSSELS, Oct 4 (KUNA) -- A Kuwait's parliamentary friendship group arrived in Brussels Sunday evening for talks to expand and strengthen the parliamentary cooperation with Belgium.
On arrival, Deputy National Assembly Speaker of Kuwait, Mubarak Al-Khurainij, the head of the delegation, told KUNA that Kuwait and Belgium enjoy "distinguished and friendly ties ", adding that "we seek to strengthen these ties on all levels including political and economic ones." He noted that the Kuwaiti delegation will hold a series of meetings with the Belgian government officials and parliamentarians in the next two days.
"We are visiting today a friendly country Belgium whose positions we respect," he said and added that talks will also cover the issue of lifting the Schengen visa for Kuwaiti citizens.
Al-Khurainiji said Kuwait enjoys a distinguished and respectable position in the world under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
He expressed his profound thanks to Kuwait's ambassador to Belgium, the EU and Luxembourg, Dharar Abdul Razzak Razzooqi for preparing the visit and for his very warm welcome.
Besides Razzooqi, other Kuwait embassy diplomats were at the airport to welcome the delegation which includes MPs Saleh Ashour and Majid Moussa in addition to Al-Khurainiji. (end) nk.hm
