Israeli forces attack Jenin wounding 22 Palestinians

By Nojoud Al-Qassem RAMALLAH, Oct 4 (KUNA) -- Israeli troops raided the Palestinian refugee camp Jenin on Sunday wounding 22 Palestinians and arresting three activists in the operation.
Mahmoud Al-Saadi, in charge of emergency at the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that 22 Palestinians were hospitalized after they were wounded with the Israeli gunfire. Ten suffered injuries with live ammunition, 12 had cuts due to rubber bullets and 22 suffered from suffocation as a result of teargas, hurled by the Israelis during the raid.
The Palestinian Prisoners Club said the Israeli forces detained three suspected activists before pulling out of the camp. The club also reported that the occupation forces stormed a hospital in Nablus, detaining a Palestinian patient, named Karam Al-Masri.
Palestinian Minister of Health Jawad Awwad condemned in a statement Al-Masri's detention noting that the raid on the hospital was a violation of international treaties that bar such acts against hospitals.
International laws stipulate respect for the medical sector, the minister said.
The Israeli raid coincided with mounting tension in the occupied territories, following at least two stabbing attacks by Palestinian activists against Jewish settlers. (end) nq.rk
