Typhoon Dujuan leaves two dead, over 300 injured in Taiwan

TOKYO, Sept 29 (KUNA) -- Powerful Typhoon Dujuan left two people dead and 324 others injured when it barreled across Taiwan, the Taipei-based Central News Agency reported Tuesday.
Six people who had gone hiking in the mountains are also unaccounted for, the Central Emergency Operation Center said.
More than 540,000 households around Taiwan were still without electricity due to to the storm as of Tuesday morning.
Dujuan, which made landfall on Taiwan late Monday, caused power outages to more than 1.95 million households at one point, the report said. After leaving Taiwan earlier in the day, Dujuan made landfall in east China's Fujian Province, packing winds of up to 33 meters per second, according to China's state-run Xinhua News Agency. Dujuan, the 21st typhoon of this year in China, was moving northwestward at a weakening speed of 20 km per hour. (end) mk.tg
