BATROUN, North Lebanon, Sept 24 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) distributed Thursday food aid to 700 Syrian refugee families in Lebanon on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha for the third consecutive year.
The Kuwaiti aid was handed out to refugee families living in northern Lebanon areas, as well as in Zahle city in eastern Lebanon, as part of KRCS' campaign to bring joy and happiness to Syrian refugees during the holy days of Eid Al-Adha, Mohammad Al-Mutairi, member of KRCS mission in north Lebanon, told KUNA.
KRCS is to continue with its relief projects in Lebanon to help Syrian refugees in cooperation with the Lebanese Red Cross Society, especially since these projects have contributed in alleviating the suffering of around 10,000 people who have been living the agony of displacement in various Lebanese areas away from their home country, Al-Mutairi said.
Meanwhile, Yousef Boutros, relief operations coordinator in Lebanese Red Cross Society, praised KRCS' distinctive humanitarian action in Lebanon since the beginning of the displacement crisis, expressing great appreciation to the Kuwaiti society's role and efforts in aiding refugees through philanthropic projects it sponsored in various Lebanese towns and areas.
